Montvilliers is an old alpine farming hamlet in a beautiful spot just below Montalbert. There are lots of good walks, cross country skiing and mountain biking routes straight from the door. The hamlet is very quiet, reached along narrow country lanes with very little through traffic.

There’s an excellent restaurant and bar in Longefoy, the next village (20 minute walk), and you can also walk up to the ski resort of Plagne Montalbert, with more shops and restaurants open during the summer and winter seasons (25 minutes depending on conditions, unmarked forest trails). Its tranquil old fashioned atmosphere is perfect for a relaxed alpine escape.

Our farmhouse

Ferme Blanche has thick stone walls, ancient beams and bags of rustic charm. Inside, enjoy the snug, a relaxing space for guests with comfy sofas and armchairs around the log burner, or the huge window seat looking onto the garden and bird feeders. Help yourself to hot drinks from the snug’s kitchen, or a drink from the honesty bar. Breakfast and dinner are served at individual tables in the dining room or on the terrace. Outside you’ll find a sunny terrace and deck, plus a spa area with log-fired sauna (extra charge). The gardens are a bit wild still, but fun for dogs and a haven for wildlife!
